Whoo I just got my AP Art test portfolio back!
So I took pics of my works and this is the drawing I did of what I thought a Tyranid Dominatrix would look like.
The actual Art piece is like, 24" height, and 36" width.
Tyranids are an alien race army you can play as in Warhammer 40k...
There is NO actual model or picture of the dominatrix (there are a couple of fan versions, and an epic 40k version, but that version was a little fugly blob.)
yes, I am a girl that play with miniatures. (never played dungeons and dragons though. it seemed kinda boring...)
Well actually she was gonna be the Norn Queen, but the Norn Queen's supposed to never go in combat and is a huge thing that's like attached to the spaceship or something.
It was created with chalk, copic markers, pen, colored pencils, and a lot more.
This is probably the last piece anyone's gonna see on my dA for a month... (leaves for Taiwan on Thursday.)

Overall Vision
Originality Technique ImpactThe fear in the humans and ferocity/inhumanity of the Tyranid specimen is well amplified, but the success I noticed most are the line sizes, especially because I'm stuck with few inking tools and color shades. The goo looks quite webby, just like goo is. Another note worthy aspect of this piece is the style of the main talons. The little spots give Tyranids the feel and mood of their primal mindset to consume. It's head and torso look great with the fang-like rib cages. Also, what species of Tyranid is that in the background, with the wings? The only flaw I could think of at the moment is the need to boast the background. A little bit of brightening on any digital editing software would be fantastic, if you still have the original files that is .(I know, 2007 and this is '11) I can't help that the humans' uniforms look very modern, or is it just camo of the Imperial Guard?
Did I also mention the talons?
